Report cards are issued quarterly to all students. Students in grades 1-5 receive letter grades. Students in grades 6 - 12 receive numeric grades. Grade weighting is determined by the amount of instructional time and difficulty of the class. A student's GPA is a helpful tool in evaluating overall academic performance.
At Calvary Academy, assessment includes giving the TerraNova 3 and InView tests each year to students in grades K through 11. These test results assist us in evaluating the success of our curriculum and teaching staff. It also becomes an aid for determining the strengths and weaknesses of our students so that we can meet their unique needs. Over the past several years ours classes have scored 15 - 30 percentile points above their peers across the nation.
Other assessment tests that are taken by Calvary Academy students may include the PSAT, SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests, AP (Advanced Placement) Exams, as well as a vocational aptitude assessments test called Career Direct. In cases where students need assessment beyond the normal classroom setting, the Independent Child Study Team is available to provide in-depth educational and psychological evaluations that can assist in meeting a student's unique needs.
